Also at these special evenings, guests enjoy refreshments while learning about Hawaii’s history in the ambiance of the museum. Topics are relevant to the month in Hawaiian history.

Discover the fascinating tales of the Islands with Mele Fong featuring stories and powerpoint presentation about topics relating to this month in Hawaiian history.
Mele Fong, historian for the Ahahui Ka’ahumanu Chapter IV Wailuku, Maui, is a member of the royal society of Native Hawaiian women that honors Queen Ka’ahumanu, favorite wife of King Kamehameha the Great. In addition, Mele and her husband, Richard Tom, perform music professionally as the duo e Hawaiian Serenaders. ey both sing and play ukulele and bass, and have represented the state of Hawai’i at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Mele is a mentor at the Institute of Hawai- ian Music at the University of Hawaii Maui College, and teaches private ukulele lessons.
